Ethics
Ethics is the beginning on innovation. You could broadly say constraints are the beginning of creativity. If Ethics wasn’t a thing there would be no computers, because they would train low waged people working countless hours with no pay as a solution rather than a computer. That was why the early computer was made, to compute arithmetic and linear equations. In this circumstance there was simply no way for institutions to game the system so they had to invent something. Two things had to happen.
1. Someone through curiosity had to come up with it and second
2. There needed to be a buyer for the innovation.
If the problem could be solved in any other way, even though it might’ve been a breakthrough, but it would not catch on, unless you had endless subsidizing but at one point it would actually need to be useful.
Nothing starts without a real need, maybe curiosity is what starts it but necessity is the fuel for it.
