I've noticed that its harder to be good when things get bad. If in normal conditions you can't maintain your ethics or the code that you live by. In times of struggle you'll break, you'll give into the momentary desires.
Today was an awesome day, I went to Canadian tire to get a a new tire in the morning. I saw my friend whom I hadn't seen for years since graduating, we talked a little and I went to school to study. On way to school, on the LRT I saw my friend Camille.
Camille's a really cool guy, I actually met him on the train last June we were just sitting across each other. I was reading a book and he was reading a book too. We talked a whole lot about life. I believe he's originally from Lebanon, then he had to flee to somewhere I forget. After that he came to Canada as a refugee or immigrant, he has a wonderful family, he likes learning languages, swimming and is engaged with Christianity. This guy's life only gets interesting, he started off as a civil engineer did that for a couple years, but his true passion was in music. So he did a masters in Music, which is so cool. I was learning how to play piano at the time, but I eventually dropped piano playing ( I don't remember why). He said he can give me a couple lessons and help me out. When I met him first he was learning Italian, because music and italian are tied together, he said italian is a very musical language. Life update for him now he's better in italian he was reading an italian book today on the train. He's really engaged in the community he goes to language meet ups where he can interact with native speakers, and I think thats so cool. I learnt italian I would read Dante's Divine Comedy. I believe its about Dante progressing up from hell, purgatory to heaven, and seeing all the punishments for each sin.
Now I got to school, studied for a bit. I saw my friend who I did Judo with a couple years ago. He's also a civil engineer, which is cool but not as cool as electrical engineers.
On the way home I had to take the train, and I made another friend who was wearing some distinct pants and I just had to to talk, but yeah awesome day. There's more, but I'm tired of typing
It's my mom's birthday tomorrow, so we celebrated today since I have two midterms and a final in the coming weeks. My mom is awesome. I'm really lucky to have her, there's more here too I'm just tired of typing
Overall, I just want to highlight that Edmonton feels like home, theres no other city not even my hometown in India, where I'm known for myself, these are all relationships I built up from the ground. My hometown in India, I'm the son of Manoj, grandson of George, but in Edmonton I'm Jess. No matter where I end up in my life Edmonton will always be in my heart as well as the people in it.
