Sorry
Sorry for not writing, I had my last final then I was in Toronto and then now I’m in Calgary for my internship. The first week moving out was rough, I just didn’t know the city and I had to go to grocery store everyday. I still don’t know what the most efficient way to buy groceries is. I’ve been learning how to cook.
Breakfast : Overnight oats + protein - I don’t know how but I messed this one up, the protein is lumpy, but tomorrow hopefully it turns out better.
Lunch: I’m a saladmaster, but I was having trouble cooking chicken, more so I bought chicken but I didn’t know how to cook it, so I bought rotisserie chicken. I dissected the chicken into little pieces that go into my salad, so thats great.
Dinner : This part is really tricky, right now I just eat bread and put some left over chicken from the salad onto it.
Speed is the name of the game, and I can cook (assemble) around 10 mins.
Toronto
Toronto was amazing, the people there were really passionate, and I liked how the city felt. The transit system is amazing, the buildings are huge, it reminded me of New York. I went to a networking event, and pretty much I met there was amazing. They were all chasing something with their entire being. I went with with my good friends and we had a blast together, it was really fun.
Calgary
I work in this building called the eighth avenue place. The building is so nice, I didn’t even think it could get this good. There’s a free gym, with a shower and free towel service, so I go there after work. I thought Oil & Gas would be super boring, but it is so cool. There’s many little intricacies involved, and there are many engineering marvels at play to extract oil.
Calgary as a city, feels like a fancier version of Edmonton, I love Edmonton and it will forever be my city, but Calgary’s transit system is so much better, and there’s more of a downtown.
I love my job, our company hires on personality especially for the interns, and all most my co workers are super cool. All the other interns too, are great people, they can all communicate well and are pleasant to be around.
ASIDE:
I really wanted to write like a two page essay on how the place you live matters, after seeing Toronto, but I might not get to it. Also, seeing Calgary, and Toronto I feel like I have to see Vancouver and Montreal to complete the set.
It’s amazing how even 3 hours away from Edmonton, things can change, even though we are in the same country, the soul of Toronto seems so different to Edmonton.
